Bryant Athletics partners with Foster Forward to sponsor Holiday Gift Campaign

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University Athletics has partnered with Foster Forward and the Foster Forward Holiday Gift Campaign to bring holiday cheer to the teens of three local foster homes.

On Friday, Dec. 9, players from all 22 Bulldog varsity programs will gather to present 24 teens with individualized gifts from their own personalized holiday wish lists. The event will take place at the Chace Athletic Center and run from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The teens, ages 13-18, come from foster homes in Warren (NAFI), Greenville (Family Service of RI) and Smithfield (Family Service of RI). The Bulldogs will help the teens usher in the holiday season with an evening packed with holiday spirit, including wreath and cookie decorating and present opening.

Each Bryant team will sponsor at least one foster child, providing gifts from that teen's personal wish list. Each Bulldog program will also present exclusive Bryant team gear to its child, while all 22 programs have come together to fill holiday gift baskets for each home.

This initiative is sponsored by the Bryant women's lacrosse program in conjunction with the Bryant Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Foster Forward. For nearly 20 years, Foster Forward has sponsored the Holiday Gift Campaign, in partnership with Rhode Island's Department of Children, Youth and Families. Each year, thanks to the kindness of hundreds of Rhode Islanders, children and teens in foster care experience the joy of being remembered during the holiday season.
