Beth Connealy Wandyes '96 named Athletic Director at Uxbridge High School

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant University Director of Athletics Bill Smith has announced that Senior Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator Beth Connealy Wandyes '96 has accepted a position as the Athletic Director at Uxbridge High School.

Wandyes is a 1996 graduate of Bryant and a member of the Bryant Athletics Hall of Fame. She spent four years as an assistant coach for the Bulldogs from 1997-2001 before returning in 2007 as the Athletic Compliance Coordinator. Wandyes has spent the last 15 years at Bryant, being promoted to Assistant AD and SWA in 2008, to Associate Athletic Director in 2011 and Senior Associate Athletic Director in 2016.

"It's hard to put into words Beth's impact on Bryant Athletics and the Bryant University community over the last decade and a half," Smith said. "Beth truly bleeds Black and Gold, as a standout student-athlete, former coach and trusted member of our senior administrative team. She was instrumental in Bryant's transition from DII to DI, preparing our department to be successful at the next level. In addition, her efforts with SAAC and University initiatives have helped our student-athletes develop a voice on campus and paved the way for a future of success. Beth will forever be a Bulldog and I am extremely thankful for all that she's done for this University and our student-athletes."

In her role as Senior Associate Athletic Director and SWA, Wandyes' primary responsibilities include sport administration of women's basketball, women's soccer, volleyball, cross country and track and field, overseeing Bryant's NCAA compliance program and acting as a liaison to Financial Aid, Admissions and the Academic Center for Excellence. Wandyes also oversees NCAA waivers and violations, APR/graduation rates, transfer eligibility and certification, is a member of the University CARE team and is the advisor of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

"I want to thank Bill Smith for taking a chance on me as the first Director of Compliance in 2007," Wandyes said. "I have been given many opportunities to grow as a professional and take on more responsibility at Bryant. I have made so many amazing friendships and have been surrounded by the best in the business. I will miss so many staff members, coaches and student-athletes. They all made the last 15 years so enjoyable and fulfilling. I am forever grateful. I will always love Bryant and bleed Black and Gold. While I won't now be here every day, I will always come back to support my alma mater. I am excited about this new opportunity as the Athletic Director at Uxbridge High School, working with their Administrative team, coaches and student-athletes. Go Bulldogs!"

As an undergrad, Wandyes was a four-year letterwinner and captained the women's basketball team her junior and senior seasons. Wandyes was inducted into the Bryant Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007. She currently holds the all-time record for steals in a game, season and career. She is one of only 19 Bryant women's basketball players to tally more than 1,000 career points.
