WOMEN'S TENNIS TEAM RECEIVES NE-10 WEEKLY HONORS
SOUTH EASTON, MA - After an impressive weekend with victories over Holy Family, AIC, and Merrimack, the Bryant University Women's Tennis Team was awarded with three players in the weekly honor.
Valeria Coutu Cuervo (Guaynabo, P.R.) was named the Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week. Cuervo went 3-0 at No.5 in singles play leading the team to three wins last weekend. She won all matches in straight sets including a 6-4, 6-0 win over Holy Family. Cuervo was also victorious in two doubles matches on the week.
Emma Czarnecki (Huntington Woods, MI) was included in the Weekly Honor Roll after she posted a 3-0 record at No. 1 singles in three wins last week. She posted a big three-set win over Holy Family and also helped lead Bryant's No. 1 doubles team to three victories on the week.
Chelsea Downing (Cherry Hills, CO) was included in the Weekly Honor Roll after she posted a 3-0 record at No. 2 singles She pulled out a three-game win over Merrimack and added a straight-set win at No. 2 versus American International followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Holy Family.
The Bulldogs (14-2) will resume their play this Thursday when they host Roger Williams.
