Baseball headed to Kansas State regional; open with Arkansas Friday (8p)

BULLDOGS TO FACE ARKANSAS IN NCAA TOURNAMENT

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – A day after winning its first Northeast Conference championship, the Bryant University baseball team found out where they will be heading in the NCAA tournament on Monday…Manhattan, Kansas. The No. 3 Bulldogs will face No. 2 Arkansas on Friday, May 31 at 8 p.m. on ESPN3.

Seeded third in the four-team double-elimination bracket hosted by Kansas State, the Bulldogs will face the top pitching team in the country in the Razorbacks who sport a nations-best 1.87 team ERA. Bryant is also in the top 10 in ERA in the country, as it brings a 2.63 ERA into it's first-ever NCAA tournament. The other matchup on Friday pits No. 1 Kansas State against No. 4 Witchita State at 3:00 p.m. The regional is scheduled to run through Monday.

Bryant is one of 64 teams to be selected to the NCAA tournament and is playing at one of 16 regional sites. The winner's of each regional site will then square off in a best-of-three super regional with the eight winners advancing to the College World Series.
