SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University baseball team begins its spring break trip with a three-game series against CAA member Towson. Originally scheduled for March 6-8, the series has been moved to March 8-9 at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Md. The two teams will play a single game at 8 p.m. Sunday night and a doubleheader on Monday morning beginning at 9 a.m.

Bryant and Towson will be meeting for the fi rst time on the diamond.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Like the Bulldogs, Towson has endured a tough start to the season. The Tigers dropped a three-game series at USC before falling to Wake Forest and Marshall twice in a four-game weekend. Towson's schedule doesn't get much easier as they still have a road trip to Virginia before beginning play in a very tough CAA.
On offense, the Tigers are averaging just over three runs per game and are hitting .219. Towson's power numbers are down as well, as the Tigers have posted just nine extra-base hits and a .290 slugging percentage. Brady Policelli leads the team with eight hits, a home run, four RBI and four runs scored. Starting shortstop Peter Bowles was an honorable mention preseason pick in the CAA.
The Tigers have struggled on the mound, posting a 7.89 ERA over the first seven games. They've allowed 23 extra-base hits and opponents are hitting .331 against them. Game one starter Austin Clark has been strong in a pair of appearances, posting a 1.12 ERA in eight innings. He blanked USC over three innings of relief in his first outing and allowed two runs over five innings in his first start last weekend against Marshall.
GOODBYE FEBRUARY
The Bulldogs are always happy to put February in the rearview mirror. Over the last three years, Bryant is 1-10-1 in the second month of the calendar year.
HELLO MARCH!
While Bryant has struggled in February, it has excelled in the month of March. Over the last two years, the Bulldogs have posted a 27-12 record in March.
BRYANT AGAINST
THE CAA Bryant has faced a member of the CAA in six of its seven Division I seasons. The Bulldogs are a combined 11-4 against current members of the CAA, having faced off with fellow New England foe Northeastern the most. Bryant is 6-2 against the Huskies. The Bulldogs also took two-of-three from James Madison in 2009 and three-of-four from Delaware last spring.
