McGill named Collegiate Baseball Newspaper All-American

TUCSON, Ariz. – Bryant University baseball graduate student Liam McGill has been named to the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper All-America Third Team, the organization announced on Thursday.

McGill becomes the 10th All-American in DI program history. He is the sixth Bulldog to earn the honor from the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

The honor comes after McGill put together one of the greatest offensive seasons in program history. McGill currently ranks second nationally in batting average (.471) and is the national leader in OBP (.541). He also ranks fifth in hits per game (1.76), seventh in RBI per game (1.35), 10th in slugging (.746) and 12th in runs per game (1.24). McGill had nine doubles, nine home runs, 50 RBI and 46 runs scored this spring. He reached safely in all 37 games he played as a Bulldog, going 8-for-16 with six RBI and seven runs scored.

McGill also won the Northeast Conference Triple Crown. He's the first player in Bryant program history to accomplish the feat, the first to do it in the NEC since 2005 and just the third ever to lead the league in average, home runs and RBI.
