SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant University baseball senior Matt Woods has been named to the 2021-22 Academic All-District Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA, the organization announced on Thursday.

Woods is one of 15 student-athletes named to the District I team that comprises of colleges and universities from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.

Woods is enjoying a career-year on the field and continues to excel in the classroom. A 3.73 student, Woods enters the penultimate weekend of the regular season with a .398 average and 113 total bases. Woods has career-highs in doubles (16), triples (5), home runs (7) and RBI (37). He is a Marketing major that has earned NEC Academic Honor Roll recognition in each year at Bryant.
