Steve Malinowski enters his first season at Bryant after spending last season as an assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Connecticut.
During his senior season at UConn, Malinowski saw action in 33 games and finished the year with a .260 batting average. He recorded three doubles and two homers, along with 19 RBI on 27 hits.
As a junior transfer in 2004, Malinowski started in 15 of his 25 game appearances, ending his season with 16 hits, 12 RBI and 13 runs scored.
During his sophomore and freshman seasons at Wake Forest, he saw action in 51 games as both a pitcher and catcher. Malinowski completed his rookie campaign with a .227 average, 21 runs and 20 RBI. He also added six doubles and a home run. At one point in the season, Malinowski made 25 consecutive starts behind the plate. In his first collegiate game, he went 4-for-5 with four runs scored to become the first freshman in Wake Forest history to tally four hits in his debut.
A native of Kensington, Conn., Malinowski graduated from UConn
in 2007 with a degree in coaching and administration.
