BRYANT CLUB RUGBY WINS D3 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - For the first time in school history and in its first visit to the national championship game, the Bryant University club women's rugby team won the D3 NASCRO National Championship, 27-5, over Gettysburg College in Philadelphia on Nov. 16.
With trys scored by a member of each class - freshman Christna Knips ('12), sophomore Carly Warland ('11), juniors Maria Acosta ('10) and Rosanna Harter ('10) and senior Krista Hoffmaster ('09) - and a conversion kick made by senior Ashley Crawford ('09), the Bulldogs didn't allow Gettysburg to even come close in the victory. Harter was named the game's Most Valuable Player.
The win was the team's 10th victory of the season, making them the undefeated national champions with a final 10-0 record.
Congratulations to the Bryant University club women's rugby team!
