Bulldogs start season off against top ranked opponents

 

Cambridge, MA- The Bulldogs opened their season this past weekend against #26 MIT and #40 Lehigh University. Bryant was led by key returners junior Luke Lorenz, and senior Chase Ruben playing at the #1 and #2 spots respectively. The Bulldogs also featured freshman Juan Rivas at the #3, as well as two other freshman in the 10-man lineup.

The Bulldogs fought hard in their first match against MIT, but came up short in securing the win. The team finished with a 0-9 loss to the Engineers.

The 2nd match of the day, the Bulldogs came out firing against Lehigh, with several matches going into 5 games. In a competitive match that featured big wins from Luke Lorenz (1), Juan Rivas (3), and Aditya Nai (7), ultimately ended in a 3-6 loss to Lehigh.

Club President, Michael Gough says “It was a tough loss and we will continue to train hard in preparation for our next match, We have a lot of new talent this year and plenty of potential for growth, so I see big things for Bryant Squash in the near future”.

Bulldogs are back in action this Sunday 11/20, against Tufts, Babson, and Brandeis at Belmont High School in MA.
