Brackett named Honorable Mention Freshman All-American by HERO Sports

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University football freshman Andre Brackett (East Windsor, Conn.) was named an Honorable Mention Freshman All-American by HERO Sports on Monday.

The Northeast Conference Defensive Rookie of the Year, Brackett becomes the second Bulldog in as many years to earn the honor. Last season, Jesse Nemerowicz (Hudson, Mass.) was also named an Honorable Mention Freshman All-American.

Brackett appeared in each of the final 10 games of the season, posting 24 tackles, two interceptions and two pass breakups. He led the Bulldogs with nine special teams tackles and finished the year with 15 stops in the final four games. Brackett intercepted his first-career pass in week 11 at Robert Morris, before adding his second interception in the final game of the season against Duquesne.
