Bryant visits Merrimack on Sunday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University football team travels to Merrimack on Sunday afternoon to take on the Warriors. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.

Series History

• Bryant owns a 9-6 lead in the all-time series, having won each of the last eight meetings. 
• The two teams met for the first time as Division I opponents in 2019, with the Black and Gold earning a 24-17 victory.
• The win was the first for second-year head coach Chris Merritt.    

Bulldogs Notes and Notables

• Bryant is 0-1 on the year following a 24-19 loss to LIU last Sunday. 
• Joe Andreessen highlighted the afternoon for the Bulldogs, tying a single-game program record with 17 tackles. He also added 4.5 TFLs, the second-most in a single game in program history. 
• Andre Brackett added 124 all-purpose yards and also forced a fumble on defense. 
• Bryant's running game produced 154 yards on the ground, with Daniel Adeboboye rushing for 76 yards on 15 carries. 
• Adeboboye enters Sunday's game just 60 yards shy of 1,000 for his career. 
• David Zorrilla led Bryant's receiving corps with five catches for 45 yards and a touchdown. It was his second-career receiving TD.  

A bit about the Warriors

• Merrimack will be playing its first game of the season on Sunday. The Warriors had their game with Wagner postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.
• The Warriors finished the 2019 season, their first as a Division I program, with a 6-5 overall record. 
• Merrimack will have to replace both its starting quarterback and the league's top receiver this spring.
