Eckhaus named NEC Rookie of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. -- Bryant University football freshman quarterback Zevi Eckhaus was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday.

It marks the third-straight week that Eckhaus has been named the NEC Rookie of the Week.

Eckhaus exceeded the 300-yard mark through the air for the second week in a row. The first-year Bulldog passed 44 times for 311 yards and two touchdowns in a last-minute defeat at Duquesne. Minimizing mistakes, Eckhaus was not intercepted and suffered only one sack. He capped a nine-play, 80-yard drive by tossing a two-yard touchdown pass, which tied the game at 7-7 with 8:09 left in the first quarter. Helping Bryant erase a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit,  Eckhaus hooked up with Daniel Adeboboye on a 12-yard scoring play with 6:30 left on the clock. Eckhaus became the first quarterback to throw for 300+ yards against the Dukes since 2017. Coincidentally, it was Bryant's Price Wilson that accomplished the feat.
