Tim Lynch begins his fifth year at Bryant University.  After coaching the team's tight ends for the previous two seasons, Lynch will coach the Bulldogs' running backs in 2009.  The ground game was very successful in 2008, Bryant's first competing at the Division I level. 

The unit will return senior standouts Jerell Smith and Lindsey Gamble.  Smith averaged 114 yards per game, rushing for 1,254 yards on the season and scoring six touchdowns while Gamble rushed for 792 yards and scored seven rushing touchdowns.

In 2006, Bryant boasted one of the nation's best passing games which included strong play from the team's tight ends. Alex Chaparro was third on the team with 186 yards receiving and scored six touchdowns for the NCAA participant Bulldogs. In 2005, Bryant set numerous passing records en route to a 7-3 record overall and No. 11 ranking the final regional poll.

In his first year with the Bulldogs, Lynch assisted in the Bryant passing offense that averaged 158 yards per game and recorded 11 touchdowns in 2004. Lynch is a 1996 graduate of Glenville State University where he played defensive back and is a member of the GSU conference championship team.

Lynch came to Bryant from Washington HS in North Carolina and has also coached at Wingate University (NC), Norwich University (Vt.), and Hampden Sydney College (Va.). A resident of Smithfield, R.I., Lynch has one son, Jackson (6).
