SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- With spring practices in full swings, the Bryant University field hockey team is getting ready to compete for a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title in 2018. The team has many familiar faces from the 2017 campaign, but there are two new additions to the Bulldog roster: Pia Klupp (Hamburg, Germany) and Casey Wheeler (Cape Town, South Africa).

GILBERT, Ariz. – The Bryant University field hockey team had 11 student-athletes named to the Zag Sports / NFHCA National Academic Squad, the association announced on Thursday. To be selected, players must have a 3.30 GPA through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year.

Sophomore back Floor van Dommelen (Berg en Dal, Netherlands) was named First Team All-MAAC, while senior Keighan Richardson (North Attleboro, Mass.) and junior Victoria Newbill (Wilton, Maine) received second-team selections.

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Senior Keighan Richardson (North Attleboro, Mass.) had three assists and sophomore Floor van Dommelen (Berg en Dal, Netherlands) scored a goal and assisted twice, but the Bryant University field hockey team fell to Siena College, 4-3, in an overtime game at Siena Turf Field in Loudonville, N.Y.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University field hockey closes out the regular season with two games this weekend. The Bulldogs will play host to Monmouth on Friday before traveling to Loudonville, N.Y. to take on Siena on Sunday. Friday’s game will be played at 4 p.m. and will include Bryant’s senior day ceremony, while Saturday’s game is slated for a 1 p.m. start.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Sophomore forward Clare Luttrell (Freehold, N.J.) scored her first collegiate goal and classmate Floor van Dommelen (Berg en Dal, Netherlands) added another, but it was not enough as the Bryant University field hockey team fell to LIU Brooklyn on Saturday, 3-2, at LIU Field in Brooklyn.
