Coach de Vries' Comments

"Preparing for the game, I told the girls that they could expect a tornado from VCU. They are well coached and super skillful. So, tactically, we weren't surprised. We knew if we kept communicating and organizing ourselves early, we would get opportunities, which we did in the second half. Leyna DiMarco scored the first goal and I am very happy for her. Next step is to be composed when we are on the opponents half. Next week we have Brown and we are going to take this time to improve more and more!"

Key Moment

In the second half, Bryant was able to get a penalty corner in the 55th minute of play. Emily Perryman (Lebanon, N.H) took the corner for the Bulldogs, getting it to Victoria Newbill (Wilton, Maine). Newbill was able to set Leyna DiMarco (Glastonbury, Conn.) up for the lone Bulldog goal. The senior trio tallied the first goal of the season shifting the momentum of the game in Bryant's favor. The Bulldogs became more urgent and aggressive after the goal, but were not able to capitalize against the tough VCU defense.
