Bryant Field Hockey picked 4th in preseason poll

SOMERSET, N.J. – The Bryant University field hockey team has been picked to finish fourth in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll that was announced on Friday afternoon.

Bryant is slated behind unanimous favorite Fairfield, Rider and Sacred Heart in the seven-team league.

The Black and Gold return their leading scorer and their two-year starter in the cage this spring. Taryn Rauff scored four goals in her debut season in 2019, while Marijn Jaarsma has posted a 2.21 GAA and a .753 save percentage in her career.

Bryant opens an eight-game spring schedule on March 4 at UMass Lowell. The Black and Gold open their six-game NEC schedule at home against Merrimack on March 18.

The Bulldogs will play all three of their home games on campus at the Track & Turf Complex.
