SMITHFIELD, RI -- For the second time in three weeks, a Bryant men's basketball player has been honored as the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week.  Two weeks ago, senior Mario Correia earned the weekly award and this week, John Williams was named player of the week for the first time after averaging 20.5 points per game in a pair of wins last week.

Williams had 19 points in a win at Merrimack and follwoed with 22 points in a first round win over Franklin Pierce on Saturday.  Williams hit the game-winning shot in the final minute to help lift the Bulldogs past the Ravens.

In Monday's thriller at Saint Anselm, Williams again made a strong case for player of the year honors with a career-high 37 points in an 81-79 overtime loss to the Hawks. Williams canned seven three's in the game including a clutch baseline three with two seconds left in regulation and force overtime.

"He was incredible and he was definately in a zone," said Saint Anselm coach Keith Dickson in Tuesday's Manchester Union Leader.  "When you talk of player of the year in our league, his is one of the names that has to be mentioned."

* The 37 points by Williams is the fourth-best single game performance in school history.  Dave Sorafine holds the record with 53 vs. Saint Francis in 1976.  Brian Bigos had 44 vs. Binghampton and Jerome Grier had 41 vs. Assumption in 1993.

* Bryant's 15 three-pointers equals the school record for three-point field goals made in a game. Bryant had 15 vs. Teikyo Post in 1992 and equalled that feat with 15 vs. Franklin Pierce in 2003.

* Both teams made 4 of 6 shots from the floor in the overtime period and made two 3-pointers in the extra session.  However, Saint Anselm made both free throw attempts while the Bulldogs did not get to the line in the five minute overtime.

* Williams' seven 3-pointers was one shy of Jason Bennett's school record of eight set in a game with Merrimack in 1999.  Williams had seven in a 33-point game vs. Pace earlier this season.

* Bryant has 43 wins in its last two seasons.  Under coach Max Good, the Bulldogs have averaged 17 wins a season.
