Burns and Skiba Honored by Rhode Island Media
WARWICK, RI - Bryant University senior basketball standouts Chris Burns and Joanna Skiba were named Players of the Year respectively by the Rhode Island Media during its awards luncheon Monday afternoon. Burns finishes his career having won more than 90 career games including three trips to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Skiba, a three-time all-conference selection, went over the 1,000 career point mark earlier this season and was Bryant's top scoring leader throughout the season.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME NOTES: Bulldogs vs. Bentley Round Four
For the third time in the last four years, the Bryant University men's basketball team will play for the Northeast Regional Championship Tuesday night when the third-seeded Bulldogs face top-seeded and undefeated Bentley College in the final. The game tips off at 7 pm at Bentley's Dana Center. Bryant earned its spot in the finals thanks to a 65-62 win over second-seeded Saint Rose Sunday. The Bulldogs knocked off sixth-seed Adelphi 77-55 Saturday in the first round. The winner of Tuesday's final will advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight which will take place March 20-23 in Springfield, Mass. Bryant has won five of its last six games with the one loss coming against Bentley in the NE-10 Regional Semifinals on Mar. 1.

MEN'S BASKETBALL SEASON COMES TO A CLOSE TUESDAY NIGHT WITH LOSS IN REGIONAL FINAL
WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior Jon Ezeokoli scored 13 points and sophomore Ryan McLean came off the bench to add 12 but it was not enough as the Bryant University men’s basketball season came to an end Tuesday night with a 63-54 loss to top-seed Bentley College in the Northeast Regional Championship game. For the Bulldogs, the game marked the final in the careers of seniors Chris Burns, Nate Sudlow, and Dan Hammond. The trio were part of more than 90 victories during their careers and helped lead Bryant to four consecutive NCAA tournaments and three Sweet Sixteen appearances in the last four years.

Burns Named to All-Conference First Team; Ezeokoli Named to Third Team
SOUTH EASTON, MASS. – Senior Chris Burns and junior Jon Ezeokoli were named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference teams for the 2006-07 season. Burns, the team's leading scorer with 15.5 points-per-game was a first-team selection, while Ezeokoli, who averages 15.0 points, was named to the third team. SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After successful regular seasons, both Bryant basketball teams will host conference tournament games at the Chace Athletic Center. The men’s team (18-9, 14-8), which finished fourth in the Northeast-10, will host the winner of No. 5 American International and No. 12 Merrimack in the quarterfinals Monday night, February 26, at 7 p.m. The women’s team (18-9, 14-8) finished seventh in the conference and will host No. 10 Saint Michael’s Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the first round of the tournament. Burns Scores Career High 36 in Comeback Win over SCSU
NEW HAVEN, CT. – Senior guard Chris Burns (Merrimack, NH) scored a career-high 36 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 78-72 victory over Southern Connecticut State Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference game. With the game tied at 68 with 1:13 to play, Jon Ezeokoli (South Orange, NJ) drove to the hoop to give the Bulldogs the two-point lead. Burns then blocked a shot on the other end and sunk four free-throws to ice the game and give him his career high. Bryant (17-9, 13-8 NE-10) will close out its regular season at home Tuesday against Merrimack College at 7:30 p.m. Before the game, the three Bulldog seniors will be honored as part of Senior Night.

SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant (14-6, 11-5 NE-10) saw its seven-game win streak snapped Wednesday night at the hands of Saint Anselm, 71-70 in Manchester, NH. Men's Hoops Snaps Road Losing Streak in Victory at Assumption
WORCESTER, MASS. – The Bryant University Men’s Basketball team snapped a three-game road losing streak with a 77-67 defeat over Assumption College Tuesday night at the Laska Gym. Senior guard Chris Burns (Merrimack, NH) jumpstarted the Bulldogs scoring the game’s first six points on two three-pointers and finished with team-high 17 overall and five shots from behind the arc. With the victory, the Bulldogs swept the season series from the Greyhounds. They defeated Assumption 62-48 earlier this season in Smithfield, RI. Bryant (9-5, 7-4 NE-10) returns to the Chace Center Thursday, hosting Pace University in a game that will be televised by Cox Channel 3, in tape delay this Friday at 8 p.m.

Upset Saturday: Bryant Men Knock Off No. 20 Saint Rose, 72-71 Behind Wright's 18 Points
SMITHFIELD, RI – Sophomore forward Jerrann Wright (Cincinnati, OH) scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Bryant University men’s basketball team to a 72-71 upset win over visiting Saint Rose Saturday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center. Bryant (8-5, 6-4 NE-10) let a 14-point second half lead slip away as the visiting Golden Knights used a strong inside game and a big run midway through the second half to tie the game 59-59 on Jermaine Clark’s (10 points) putback from a miss with 7:20 left. The Bulldogs travel to Assumption Tuesday night for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Men's Basketball Looks To Rebound Against Ranked Saint Rose
The Bryant men's basketball team (7-5, 5-4 in NE-10) will square off with the 20th ranked College of Saint Rose Golden Knights (12-2, 8-1 in NE-10) in a crucial conference match-up saturday afternoon in the Chace Athletic Center. Gametime is set for 3:30pm. The Bulldogs are coming off of a disappointing 73-52 loss to Merrimack on Wednesday evening. The game came just four days after Bryant went 2-0 in the Comfort Suites Holiday Classic, where they posted impressive victories over Le Moyne College and the University of Bridgeport. It was a record-setting weekend of sorts for the Bulldogs, as Chris Burns sank his 1,000th point and his 200th three-pointer of his career. Dan Hammond also broke the career steals record with a steal in the game against Le Moyne on Friday. The win against Bridgeport was the 100th win as Bryant coach for Max Good, whose Bulldogs come into Saturday's contest a perfect 6-0 on their home floor.

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. - The Bryant Men's Basketball team suffered a dissapointing defeat at the hands of Merrimack College 73-52 Wednesday night at the Volpe Center. No Bulldog registered double figures in the loss, while Nate Sudlow tallied eight points. Bryant (7-5, 5-4 NE-10) hosts Saint Rose Saturday at the Chase Center (3:30 p.m.)

Burns Scores 1,000th Career Point in Bryant Win Over Bridgeport; Coach Max Good Records Win No. 100 at Bryant
SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University senior guard Chris Burns (Merrimack, NH) scored his 1,000th career point in a Bryant uniform Saturday afternoon in leading the Bulldogs to a 64-57 win over Bridgeport. Burns drained a 19-footer on the right side with 43 seconds left in the first half to become the 30th player in school history to reach the mark.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS- Bryant Men's Basketball Idle Until Dec. 29-30 Holiday Classic
The Bryant University men's basketball team will have 16 days of rest for exams and the holidays before returning to action on Friday, Dec. 29 when the Bulldogs host the annual Holiday Classic at the Chace Athletic Center. The two-day tournament will start with the Bulldogs facing Le Moyne in a conference game at 5 pm and will follow with a matchup of Merrimack College and Bridgeport at 7 pm. Bryant will take on Bridgeport on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 3 p.m. The Bulldogs are coming off a 59-77 loss at Stonehill College on Dec. 13 as the Bulldogs struggled offensively and never recovered after falling behind early to the Skyhawks. Bryant is led by Chris Burns (Merrimack, NH) who is averaging 13.9 ppg and has made 30 three's on the season. Burns enters the Le Moyne game needing just eight points to reach the 1,000 point mark in his career at Bryant.

Bryant Men Fall To Stonehill 77-59 As Burns Hits For 20
EASTON, Mass. – The Bryant University men’s basketball team got off to a tough start – both offensively and defensively as the Bulldogs fell behind and never recovered as the Bulldogs dropped a 77-59 decision at Stonehill College Wednesday night in Northeast-10 Conference action. Ryan McLean (left) had 8 points and 8 rebounds off the bench. Bryant will be off for 16 days before returning to action December 29 hosting the Comfort Suites Holiday Tournament at the Chace Athletic Center. Bryant will face Le Moyne on the 29th at 5 p.m. and Bridgeport on Dec. 30 at 3 p.m.

Men's Basketball Visits Stonehill College Wednesday Night To Face Defending Regional Champion Skyhawks
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant men's basketball team wraps up its tough four-game stretch against the Northeast-10 elite this Wednesday evening when the Bulldogs visit defending conference co-champion and NCAA regional champion Stonehill College for a 7:30 p.m. game at Merkert Gymnasium. This will be the first of two meetings between the two schools with the second set for January 13 which will be broadcast live on CSTV at the Chace Athletic Center in Smithfield, R.I. Bryant is coming off a 76-46 win over Southern New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon. Jon Ezeokoli had 14 points while Chris Burns and Nathaniel Sudlow each added 12 points. Ezeokoli leads the Bulldogs with 14 points per game this year while Burns and Sudlow are next at 13.1 ppg and 10.5 ppg respectively. Burns has made 25 of 51 three-point field goal attempts on the season and enters the game with 972 career points at Bryant. Sudlow is enjoying a strong start to his senior season, leading the team with 9 blocks, 19 steals. Bryant has won three of its last four games with the one loss coming at Bentley, 61-49 last week in Waltham, Mass. Stonehill fell to Bentley on Saturday afternoon, 80-72 despite 23 points from Nick Smith.

LOWELL, Mass. – Jon Ezeokoli’s (South Orange, NJ) fade-away three-pointer from the right corner with 2.9 seconds remaining gave the Bryant men’s basketball team a thrilling 69-66 win at UMass Lowell Saturday afternoon . Ezeokoli’s basket helped the Bulldogs escape with the victory after blowing a 10 point lead with four minutes remaining. Bryant improves to 4-2 on the season with the victory (3-1 in the Northeast-10) heading into Tuesday’s showdown at eighth-ranked Bentley in Waltham, Mass.

SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University men's basketball team will hit the road this Saturday afternoon seeking its first road victory of the season as the Bulldogs visit UMass Lowell for a 4 p.m. tip at Costello Gym in Lowell, Mass. Bryant is 0-2 away from home this year but coming off an impressive defensive showing Wednesday night in a 62-48 Bulldog win. Men's Basketball Clamps Down On Defense In 62-48 Win Over Assumption Wednesday
SMITHFIELD, RI - Chris Burns and Nate Sudlow (left) scored 16 and 15 points respectively as the Bryant men's basketball team rebounded from Sunday's overtime loss with a 62-48 win over visiting Assumption College at the Chace Athletic Center. Bryant forced Assumption to shoot 31.4 percent from the floor in the game and commit 25 turnovers. The Bulldogs travel to UMass Lowell on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. game.

Bryant Men Fall in Overtime To Ravens, 71-69
RINDGE, NH - Franklin Pierce scored the game-winner on a drive in the lane by Daryl Minifield as the host Ravens held off the Bryant men's basketball team, 71-69 in overtime Sunday afternoon. Bryant got 16 points from Chris Burns including a runner in the lane with 10 seconds left in regulation to force the extra period. Bryant will host Assumption Wednesday evening.

Men's Basketball Drops Opener to Philadelphia, 85-63 Wednesday
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Bryant junior forward Jon Ezeokoli scored 24 points on 9 of 17 shooting but it was not enough as the Philadelphia Rams handed the Bulldogs an 85-63 setback in the team’s 2006-07 season opener Wednesday night. The Bulldogs shot 43.3 percent from the floor in the game and will look for its first win on the season when the team hosts American International College Saturday night (7:30 pm) at the Chace Athletic Center.

Men's Basketball Loses to Huskies 70-45
HARTFORD, CONN. - The Bryant Men's Basketball team battled with the 18th-ranked Connecticut Huskies throughout Monday night's contest at the Hartford Civic Center, but the Huskies pulled away late defeating the Bulldogs 70-45. The Bulldogs trailed by only six at the half but managed only 15 second-half points. Chris Burns led Bryant with 13 points, including three from behind the arc. With the exhibition schedule now complete against Div. I powerhouses Syracuse and UConn, the Bulldogs will focus on its regular season, as they kick-off the 2006-07 season Nov. 15th at Philadelphia. Their home-opener is Nov. 18th against AIC at 7:30 p.m. at the Chace Center.

SYRACUSE, NY – Bryant University senior guard Chris Burns (Merrimack, NH) scored a career-best 33 points while Ryan McLean added 18 points as the Bulldogs dropped a 92-86 decision to Syracuse Wednesday night. Syracuse came into the game with a lofty No. 20 national ranking and picked to finish third in the BIG EAST. Not to mention preseason freshman of the year Paul Harris. But the Bulldogs would give the hosts a game on this night.

Bryant Men's Basketball Visits UConn Monday Night; Game To Be Broadcast Live on Cox 3 in Rhode Island
SMITHFIELD, RI -- The Bryant men’s basketball team plays its second and final preseason exhibition game Monday night when the Bulldogs travel to the Hartford Civic Center to face the Connecticut Huskies. Bryant is coming off an impressive showing last Wednesday night with a 92-86 loss at Syracuse ... Senior guard Chris Burns had a career-high 33 points in the game ... The Providence College transfer (redshirt 2002-03) made 10 of 18 shots including 6 of 12 three’s in 40 minutes of action ... The Bulldogs trailed 45-34 at the half and outscored the Orange 52-47 in the second half ... The Bulldogs also managed to out-rebound Syracuse 58-53 ... Bryant, under the direction of sixth-year coach Max Good, returns four starters from last year’s team that went 21-10 and reached the Division II NCAA tournament for the third consecutive year. This will be the sixth Division I opponent for Bryant in the past three seasons including the third meeting with UConn in as many years. In 2004, Bryant visited Maryland (100-85 L) and UConn (90-65 L) and in 2005 played at UNLV (81-63 L) and UConn (109-62 L) ... Bryant has two Connecticut natives on its roster: 6-5 freshman forward Cecil Gresham (Bloomfield, CT) who prepped at Maine Central Institute and is expected to play a key role this season, and 6-4 freshman forward Dana Mauro (Wethersfield, CT) who did not see action at Syracuse.

SMITHFIELD, RI – For the third year in-a-row, the Bryant University men's basketball program will play the University of Connecticut in an exhibition game as the 2006-07 basketball schedule has been finalized. In addition to what has become an annual trek to the Hartford Civic Center for the Bulldogs, Bryant will open the season with an exhibition game at Syracuse University on November 1.

Bryant All-American John Williams To Play in Portsmouth Invitational Tournament April 5-8
SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University's John Williams has been named Third Team All-American by Daktronics after leading the Bryant men's basketball team to its third-straight NCAA tournament with a 20.3 ppg scoring average. Concluding his career fourth on Bryant's all-time career scoring list, Williams has also received an invitation to participate in the prestigious Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in April 5-8.
