BULLDOGS SET TO OPEN 2009-10 REGULAR SEASON AT WORLD VISION INVITATIONAL, TO TAKE ON PC IN OPENER
SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- A year ago, the Bryant University men's basketball team entered a new era of competition, joining the highest ranks of the NCAA community as the Bulldogs debuted at the Division I level for the first time. Now, as second-year head coach Tim O'Shea and the Bryant University men's basketball team prepare for their second go-around in Division I play, one thing is for sure - the Bulldogs will look a little different than they did a year ago.

MEN'S BASKETBALL TABBED 11TH IN NEC PRESEASON POLL
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men’s basketball team was tabbed to finish 11th in the Northeast Conference (NEC) in 2009-10 according to a vote by the league’s head coaches. The announcement was made Wednesday during a media teleconference call as a prelude to the NEC’s 29th season.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men’s basketball team gave fans a taste what to expect in the upcoming 2009-10 season in Friday night’s exhibition against Concordia (Can.), topping the Stingers, 88-55, at the Chace Athletic Center.

BASKETBALL SEASON READY TO KICK OFF FRIDAY NIGHT
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – College basketball officially returns to the Chace Athletic Center Friday evening as the Bryant University men’s basketball team opens its 2009-10 season with an exhibition game against Concordia University of Canada. Doors open at 6 pm with the tip-off set for 7 pm.

In their first year as a Division I program, the Bulldogs enjoyed some potent 3-point shooting, played hard on defense and found a way to score enough points to scratch out eight wins. But all too often, Bryant was physically outmatched in the size department. The Bulldogs were out-rebounded by seven rebounds a night but that didn’t begin to tell the full story.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PRACTICE UNDERWAY
Practice is underway for the Bryant men’s basketball team as the Bulldogs prepare for the upcoming 2009-10 season, the Bulldogs’ second competing at the Division I level. The Bulldogs will host Concordia in an exhibition on October 30 in the final tuneup before the opener November 13 at Providence.
