Lin selected as NEC Rookie of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University men's basketball freshman Benson Lin (New Taipei City, Taiwan) has been selected as the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending December 8, as announced Monday by the NEC office.

Lin averaged 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in a 2-0 week for the Black & Gold with home victories over Navy and Columbia. The freshman guard led Bryant with a career-high 19 points and made four three-pointers in last Monday's 60-45 win over Navy.

Lin has recorded 8.2 points per game in his first 10 collegiate contests while adding 2.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. The NEC Rookie of the Week honor is Bryant's third in the first five weeks of the season, as freshman Charles Pride (Syracuse, N.Y.) received the award November 11 and 25.

The Bulldogs are back in action when they travel to the Bronx for a Tuesday matinee at Fordham. The noon tip can be seen on ESPN+.
