Green earns NEC Rookie of the Week honor

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University men's basketball freshman Michael Green III (Bronx, N.Y.) has been selected as the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending Feb. 15, as announced Monday by the NEC office.

Green averaged 19.5 points per game during Bryant's two-game trip to Connecticut. The guard from the Bronx poured in a career-high 22 points in Thursday's nationally televised clash at Sacred Heart and followed that performance with a team-high 17 points Saturday at Central Connecticut. Green shot 46.7% for the week and 50% from three while adding 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

Bryant has collected a conference-leading and program-record seven NEC Rookie of the Week honors in 2019-20. Freshmen Benson Lin (New Taipei City, Taiwan) and Charles Pride (Syracuse, N.Y.) have each earned three this year.

The Bulldogs return to action Tuesday when Bryant hosts first-place Merrimack at the Chace Athletic Center. Tickets are available HERE and the game can be seen on YurView New England and NEC Front Row.
