Pride earns his fourth, Bryant's ninth NEC Rookie of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – A stellar performance on the glass earned Bryant University men's basketball freshman Charles Pride (Syracuse, N.Y.) his fourth Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week honor Monday, as announced by the NEC office.

Pride averaged 8.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game on the weekend for the Bulldogs, grabbing double-digit boards in both contests. The freshman from Syracuse hauled in 11 rebounds Thursday at Fairleigh Dickinson and 10 in Saturday's win at Wagner to give him three straight performances of 10 or more.

Nine of Pride's 21 rebounds were at the offensive end, where he shot 7-for-15 (46.7%) on the weekend and added five assists. Pride's four weekly rookie honors are the second-most in Division I program history. The Bulldogs have collected nine on the season, shattering the previous program record of six. Pride leads the way with four, while Benson Lin (New Taipei City, Taiwan) has earned three and Michael Green III (Bronx, N.Y.) has garnered two.

Bryant returns to action Wednesday in Loretto, Pennsylvania, with an NEC Quarterfinal at Saint Francis U. The 7 p.m. game can be seen on NEC Front Row.
