Lin drafted third overall in CBA Draft

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Former Bryant University men's basketball player Benson Lin was selected third overall in the Chinese Basketball Association's (CBA) annual draft held on Thursday.

Lin played his freshman season for the Bulldogs before deciding to forego the rest of his collegiate career to turn pro. He becomes the second-highest drafted player from Taiwan in CBA draft history.

Lin's lone season in Smithfield was a spectacular one as he averaged 8.6 points per game, 1.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists. He was a three-time NEC Rookie of the Week, finishing the year with 13 double-figure scoring games.
