Green III (23), Kiss (22) push Bryant past UNH, 93-85

DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore Michael Green III tied his career high with 23 points and redshirt senior Peter Kiss added 22 to lead the Bryant University men's basketball team to a 93-85 victory over New Hampshire on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs built an eight-point lead in the second half but needed a 23-12 finish over the final 7:20 to win their first game of the year.

Green III's 23 points on 8-of-20 shooting, while Kiss finished one shy of his career high on 9-of-14 shooting from the floor. He also added nine rebounds. Hall Elisias posted his first-career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, Charles Pride had 17 points and eight boards and Chris Childs was the fifth Bulldog in double figures with 12 points.

• Green III energized a late first half push with five quick points and then assisted on an alley-oop dunk by Elisias.

How it Happened

• Bryant jumped out to a 17-12 lead but the Wildcats scored the next 10 points to take a 22-17 lead with 10:24 left in the first half.
• The teams traded the lead until Pride drilled a three to make it 30-28 Bulldogs with 6:45 left.
• A conventional three-point play from Childs made it 39-35 with 3:28 left.
• After UNH hit a three, Green III raced down the court and canned a step-back three. Following a UNH basket, Green III once again raced down the court for two. Green III then threw it up for Elisias to throw down to make it a six-point game with 1:12 to go.
• A transition three from Kiss and a free throw from Luis Hurtado Jr. made it an eight-point game with 13:18 to go.
• UNH then scored eight-straight points to make it 65-64 with 10:51 to go.
• Bryant and UNH traded baskets for the next five minutes, with a Kiss three making it 76-75 Bulldogs with 5:43 left.
• Pride then broke a 78-78 tie with a putback and canned two free throws to make it a four-point game.
• After UNH made it a two-point game, Childs drilled a three from the top to make it a five-point game.
• The Bulldogs closed out the game by going 8-for-8 from the free throw line.

• Bryant shot 47 percent (29-64) for the game. The Bulldogs were 7-of-20 from beyond the arc and finished 28-of-36 (80%) from the free throw line.
• The Bulldogs held UNH to 40.5% from the field and forced 11 turnovers.
• Green III finished with 23 points, including 16 in the first half, on 8-of-20 shooting from the field. He made 3-of-7 shots from three and finished with two assists.
• Kiss had 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting. He made 2-of-5 from three and added nine rebounds.
• Pride poured in 17 points, including 10-of-12 from the stripe, had eight rebounds and turned the ball over just once in 33 minutes.
• Elisias registered a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in just 18 minutes.
• Childs had 12 points, canning all seven of his free throws.

• Head Coach Jared Grasso did not travel to the game due to a back injury. Associate Head Coach Phil Martelli Jr. served as the head coach.
• Bryant's 93 points are it's most since scoring 104 against Sacred Heart on Feb. 14, 2019. The last time Bryant scored 90+ points in regulation came on Feb. 25, 2017 against Central Connecticut.
• Green III tied his career high in point with 23. He had set the mark against St. Francis Brooklyn last season.
• Kiss finished one point shy of his career high of 23, set against Niagara during his freshman year at Quinnipiac.
• Pride has posted 15+ points and 7+ rebounds in each of the first two games of the season.
• Pride is also the first Bulldog since SaBastian Townes (13) on Jan. 3, 2019 to make 10+ free throws.
• Elisias registered his first-career double-double on Tuesday. It was his fourth career double-figure rebounding game.
• Erickson Bans and Luke Sutherland both made their Bryant debuts on Tuesday.
