Bryant accepts invite to CBI

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's basketball team has been selected to participate in the 2021 College Basketball Invitational (CBI), the Gazelle Group announced on Monday afternoon.

Bryant will be one of eight teams that will compete for the CBI crown at Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. The tournament will start on March 22, with the Bulldogs facing Coastal Carolina in the first round. Tip is set for 2:30 p.m. All games can be seen on FloHoops.

The Black and Gold are enjoying their best season at the Division I level this winter, entering the CBI with a 15-6 overall record. Bryant advanced to the Northeast Conference Championship game for the first time in program history, falling to Mount St. Mary's, 73-68, on March 9.

Bryant's historic season saw it jump from 237 in the NET last year to a current ranking of 127. The Bulldogs also jumped from 310 on kenpom.com to a current mark of 174. Bryant is one of the most electrifying teams in the country, ranking fifth in scoring offense and 14th in tempo.
