Bryant to face URI as part of Sunshine Slam

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's basketball team will face the University of Rhode Island for the second time in three years as part of the Sunshine Slam this November.

Bryant and URI will meet on Nov. 12 in Kingston in a regional contest prior to the championship rounds portion the following weekend at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The Bulldogs will face Bethune-Cookman on Nov. 20 in the first round. Bryant will face either Air Force or Holy Cross on Nov. 21.

Bryant opened the 2018-19 season at URI, falling 97-63. It was the first meeting between the two programs at the Division I level.

The Black and Gold are coming off a historic season in 2020-21, one in which they won 15 games hosted the Northeast Conference Championship for the first time in program history. Bryant also earned its second postseason invitation at the DI level, facing Coastal Carolina in the College Basketball Invitational in Daytona Beach.
