Bryant faces Merrimack Friday night in North Andover

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's basketball team heads to North Andover, Mass., Friday night to face Merrimack. Tip is set for 7:00 p.m.

THE SERIES
Bryant and Merrimack renew a rivalry that dates back to 1970-71. The Warriors own a 34-22 in the all-time series but the Black and Gold have won three of four meetings at the Division I level. Last season, Bryant swept Merrimack, 60-58 and 76-60, in February.         

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. Bryant is now 5-1 in NEC play following Monday's 82-52 victory over Saint Francis U. The Bulldogs' improved to 5-1 at home this season and matched their largest victory in DI program history (30 points). Bryant is now in sole possession of second place in the NEC standings. 
  2. Peter Kiss posted his league-leading third 30-point game of the season on Monday, finishing with 31 points on 10-of-20 shooting. He also became the first player in the country to post a stat line of 31 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals this season. Kiss is now eighth nationally in scoring with 21.2 ppg. 
  3. Adham Eleeda continues to rain threes for the Black and Gold, hitting 11 in two games last week. He now ranks 27th nationally with 3.1 3s/game and is averaging 14.4 ppg in league play.  
  4. Charles Pride is averaging 16.6 ppg and 8.2 rpg during NEC play this season. He ranks in the top 10 of the NEC in both scoring and rebounding and now has 40 double-digit scoring efforts in his career.   
  5. Greg Calixte is playing some of the best basketball of his career over the last eight, averaging 6.6 ppg and 6.4 rpg. He's 23-of-29 from the field in those eight games.
