Kiss, Pride earn All-District honors from NABC, USBWA

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant University men's basketball teammates Peter Kiss and Charles Pride have earned All-District honors from both the NABC and USBWA, the national organizations announced this week. 

Kiss and Pride were both named to the NABC All-District 15 First Team and to the USBWA All-District I team. In addition, Kiss was named the USBWA District I Player of the Year. The duo enters the NCAA Tournament averaging a combined 43.1 points per game, the most in the country. 

Kiss has put together one of the greatest scoring seasons in program history, entering the NCAA Tournament averaging an NCAA-best 25.1 points per game. He leads the country with 10 30-point efforts and has scored 20+ points in 13 of his last 14. Kiss' 652 points are the most in DI program history and are the most by a Bulldog since John Williams scored 682 points in 2004-05. His 25.1 points per game are the most by a Bulldog since David Sorafine averaged 25.4 ppg in 1974-75. Kiss is coming off one of his best games of the year, posting 34 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. 

Pride has provided the Bulldogs one of the nation's best one-two punches, entering the NCAA Tournament with 18.0 ppg and 8.6 rebounds per game. He has posted 10 double-doubles, 11 20-point games and has scored in double-figures in 25 of the 31 games this year. Pride was his at his best down the stretch, averaging 22.7 ppg and 10.1 rpg over his last 11 games. He scored a Division I single-game record 44 points in a road win at Saint Francis U and posted double-doubles in the NEC Semifinal and NEC Final. Pride's 267 rebounds are the second-most in DI single-season program history and tied for the 10th-most all-time. 

Bryant faces Wright State on Wednesday night in the 2022 NCAA Men's Basketball Championships First Four in Dayton, Ohio. Tip is set for 6:40 p.m. EST on TruTV.
