THE SERIES
Bryant and Brown are meeting for the 14th time as Division I opponents on Friday night. The Bears own a 10-3 lead in the series, but the Black and Gold are coming off a 65-59 victory last season in Providence. Bryant will be looking for its first win over the Bears in Smithfield since Nov. 27, 2013.

'TWAN ON A TEAR
Antwan Walker enters Friday on a tear, averaging 16.2 ppg and 8.2 rpg over his last five games. He has scored in double-figures in all five games, including a season-high 19 against Framingham State on Monday. Walker was named the America East Co-Player of the Week on Monday after he averaged a double-double in victories over Detroit Mercy and Syracuse.

EARL LOCKED IN
Earl Timberlake enters Friday's game averaging 15.6 ppg and 8.0 rpg. He's also chipped in 3.7 apg this season. Timberlake has scored in double-figures in all seven games and has recorded the first two double-doubles of his career. He had a dominant game against FIU, posting 17 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and a steal.

RUNNIN' WITH THE DAWGS
Bryant has emerged as one of the most exciting teams in college basketball over the last three years. The Bulldogs ranked fourth in the country in scoring (83.8) in 2020-21, 28th in 2021-22 and are currently second nationally this season (95.7). Bryant is also one of the top five teams nationally in tempo, entering Friday at 74.3 possessions per game.

FIVE MORE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. Bryant enters Friday with a 6-1 record on the season. The 6-1 start is Bryant's best seven-game start in DI program history. It is the best seven-game start since 2003-04. That team started 9-1.
  2. Charles Pride enters Friday just three assists shy of becoming the first player in DI program history to record 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 assists.
  3. Sherif Gross-Bullock leads the Bulldogs with 16.1 ppg and has also contributed 3.9 rpg and 4.4 apg. Gross-Bullock has collected at least three assists in all but one game this season. He scored the game-winning basket in Bryant's win over Syracuse on Nov. 26.
  4. Kvonn Cramer ranks second in the America East with 12 blocks after he swatted away a career-high four shots against Framingham State.
  5. Bryant comes into Friday with a 43-13 home record under Jared Grasso. The Bulldogs are 26-2 at home since the start of the 2020-21 season.
