BULLDOGS STAND IN FOURTH AFTER ROUND 2 AT GEICO INTERCOLLEGIATE

DELAWARE, OHIO- The Bryant University golf team improved their round one performance by seven strokes, shooting a 300 in round two but fell back to fourth place at the GEICO Intercollegiate Tournament. The Bulldogs trail Yale and Seton Hall by just four strokes for second place, while Southern Illinois remains in first.
Bryant has three golfers in the top-20 for the tournament, with Alex Daley (Hudson, Mass) continuing to lead the charge after shooting a 76 in round two, giving him a two round total of 149 to tie him for sixth place. He trails the overall leader, Tom Hayes, by just three strokes. Kyle Hoffman (Pawtucket, R.I.) and Mike Pyne (Foxboro, Mass.) are both tied for the 17th spot, as Hoffman shot a 74 and Pyne a 75 to give them a total of 152 for the two rounds. Jason Thresher (West Suffield, Conn.) and Scott Congdon (Foxboro, Mass.) each showed improvement from the first round, as they are tied for 33rd, after shooting a 75 and 76 respectively in the second round.
The Bulldogs will play one more round on Saturday to finish up the tournament and return home to Smithfield.
