BRYANT GOLFERS FARING WELL AT STATE AMATEURS

SMITHFIELD, RI - Three current and one former members of the Bryant University men's golf team have advanced to the round of 32 at the Rhode Island and Massachusetts State Amateur Championships. 

Kyle Hoffman (Pawtucket, RI) and former standout and current assistant coach Jim O'Connell (Troy, NY) have qualified following excellent rounds on Tuesday.  O'Connell opened the tournament Monday with a 75 and recorded nine birdies Tuesday to finish with a 67.  Hoffman carded a 74 Monday and 76 Tuesday and advanced to the next round following a playoff.   Both Hoffman and O'Connell play out of Pawtucket Country Club.

Men's assistant lacrosse coach and former champion Charlie Blanchard and former standout Brenden Smith (North Attleboro, MA) also competed in the tournament.

At the Mass. State Amateur at The Brookline Country Club, Scott Congdon (Foxboro, MA) shot a 69 on Tuesday to advance while teammate Alex Daley (Hudson, MA) also advanced following a round of 71.
