Golf begins spring season in Daytona Beach at Lonnie Barton Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University golf team begins its spring season on Monday in Daytona Beach, Fla., at the Lonnie Barton Invitational.

The two-round tournament will be played at the LPGA International golf course.

The Bulldogs concluded the fall season with a pair of second-place finishes and a first-place performance at the NEIGA Division I Championships to wrap up the 2015 year.

Seniors Joe Walp (Portland, Maine) and Kyle Buschmann (East Haddam, Conn.) carded a combined seven top-25 finishes in the five events during the fall, which including four top-five places and first-place showings at the Ryan Lee Memorial Tournament (Sep. 12-13) and Hartford Hawk Invitational (Sep. 21-22), respectively.

Junior Ryan Tombs (Bedford, N.H.) led the Black and Gold with top-25 finishes in all five events of the fall including two top-three placements.
