Bryant places third at Lonnie Barton Invitational; Henderson turns in top-10 result

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A top-10 finish from sophomore Connor Henderson (Southborough, Mass.) helped lead the Bryant University men's golf team to a third-place finish at the Lonnie Barton Invitational Tuesday at LPGA International.

Henderson shot a three-over 75 both Monday and Tuesday for a 10th place finish. Eight of the nine NEC teams competed in the event with the Bulldogs leading the group. The tournament was played at the site of this year's NEC Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Henderson shot a 75 (+3) for the second-straight day to jump from 20th to 10th.
  • Graduate student John Roberts (West Hartford, Conn.) and sophomore Matthew Stafford (Suffield, Conn.) finished tied for 12th at +8 for the tournament. Stafford shot a 77 (+5) Tuesday, while Roberts carded an 81 (+9).
  • Junior Ryan Brown (Bedford, N.H.) placed tied for 28th after a 77 (+5) Tuesday.
  • Junior Jake Ratti (Hanover, Mass.) rounded out the Bryant scoring with an 84 (+12) Tuesday to finish tied for 55th.
  • Sophomore Payton Kim (Palatine, Ill.) turned in an 85 (+13) playing as an individual to tie for 53rd at the tournament.
  • Bethune-Cookman took home the team title, while Fort Wayne's Eric Brinker carded a 69 both days to earn individual medalist honors.
