Bryant faces Stony Brook Saturday afternoon

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's lacrosse team hits the road this weekend to take on Stony Brook. Faceoff is set for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. 

Saturday's game will be streamed live on AmericaEast.tv and the Lax Sports Network.

THE SERIES
Bryant and Stony Brook have split six all-time meetings. The Bulldogs have won three of the last four, including a 15-11 decision last season in Smithfield. Marc O'Rourke paced the offense with a single-game record-tying seven goals, while Luke Caracciolo made a career-high 18 saves between the pipes.  

SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES
Stony Brook opened the season with an outstanding offensive showing against Sacred Heart last Saturday, downing the Pioneers 20-8. Dylan Pallonetti scored six times and added an assist in his first collegiate game. 

BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • The Bulldogs opened the 2021 season with a 9-8 victory over Providence last Saturday.
  • Logan McGovern paced the offense with five points (1g, 4a), while Jake Buonaiuto and Kevin Groeninger each tallied a pair of goals.
  • Luke Caracciolo was named to the USILA Team of the Week after making 16 saves, including 10 in the second quarter, against the Friars. 
  • Nathan Laliberte won 12-of-17 faceoffs and finished with seven ground balls in his collegiate debut. 
  • LaJhon Jones and Brody Rule led the Bryant defense, combining for eight ground balls and three caused turnovers.
