Bryant faces Hobart in NEC Semifinals Thursday at 4pm

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The second-seeded Bryant University men's lacrosse team will face third-seeded Hobart on Thursday afternoon in Philadelphia in the 2022 Northeast Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship Semifinals. Faceoff is set for 4:00 p.m.

The 2022 NEC Men's Lacrosse Championships will be hosted by top seed Saint Joseph's. The Hawks will face fourth-seeded LIU in Thursday's first semifinal at 1:00 p.m. Thursday's winners will meet Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the NEC Championship.

THE SERIES
Bryant owns a 9-6 lead in the all-time series. The Bulldogs have won each of the last two meetings, including a 14-12 victory in last year's NEC Semifinal. Thursday will mark the sixth postseason meeting between the two teams, with the Bulldogs owning a 4-1 lead in those meetings.     

SCOUTING HOBART
Hobart shook off an 0-3 start to league play to finish 4-3 in the NEC and earn the No. 3 seed. The Statesmen are led by Ryan Archer who has 23 goals, 34 assists and 57 points. Derrek Madonna is one of two Hobart players with 23 goals.     

BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • The Bulldogs finished the regular season with an 8-6 overall record and a 6-1 mark in NEC play.
  • Marc O'Rourke (43-18-61), Logan McGovern (18-35-54) and Bennett Abladian (41-5-46) pace the Bryant offense. 
  • O'Rourke enters the NEC Tournament with a career-high 61 points. He is just the fourth player in DI program history to have 60+ points in a single season. 
  • O'Rourke is also one goal shy of tying the DI single-season program record of 44.  
  • McGovern has posted a DI single-season program record with 35 assists. His 54 points are a career high. 
  • Abladian has posted nine hat tricks on the year. 
  • Drew Lucas and Tanner Alexander each have 32 ground balls on the year. 
  • Jacob Alexander has won 55 percent of his faceoffs.
  • Luke Caracciolo was the 2021 NEC Tournament MVP and enters the championships with a 54.2 save percentage and a 10.36 GAA.
