SWIM TEAMS HOST BOSTON COLLEGE SUNDAY AT NOON

SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University men's and women's swim teams return to action this Sunday afternoon hosting the Eagles of Boston College in a non-conference meet set to start at noon.  The Bulldogs opened the home schedule last Friday night swimming a terrific meet against the University of Maine. The Bryant women nearly pulled off the win, falling to the Black Bears 133-129 while the Maine men topped the Bulldogs 161-100. 

Sunday's meet will be the second meeting all-time between Bryant and BC.  Last year, the Eagles picked up a 130-113 victory over the Bryant men in Chestnut Hill, Mass. while the BC women defeated the Bulldogs 133-110. 

In last year's Halloween meet with the Eagles, the Bryant women picked up a win in the 200 yard backstroke from Allison Schaab in 2:45.54 while teammate Sarah Drew was next in second in 2:47.76.  Jess Looney won the women's 500 yard free in 5:21.81 with Amy Howell, Emily Hayes and Cassy Fostik right behind in second, third and fourth respectively.  Looney was also a winner in the 200 IM (2:17.79) while Abby Whittaker won the women's 100 yard butterfly in a time of 1:02.97. 

The Bryant 200 freestyle relay team took top honors as well, finishing in 1:46.12.   The men were led by Steven Nguyen who was first in the 200 IM (2:06.44) and second in the 200 free (1:50.02) while the men's 200 yard freestyle relay took first in 1:31.35.
