Men's swim & dive completes weekend sweep with win over Maine Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Juniors Colin Curtin (Wethersfield, Conn.) and Ben Schulte (Tumon, Guam) and freshman Robert Davis (Glastonbury, Conn.) all won two events to lead the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team to a 162-99 victory over the University of Maine Saturday night at the Chace Athletic Center Pool.

With the win, the Bulldogs wrapped up a perfect weekend and improve to 2-1 in dual meets this season.

Curtin won the 100 back with a time of 53.24, the 200 back with a time of 1:58.38 and finished second in the 500 free (5:04.87). Schulte won the 200 free (1:47.26), the 200 IM (1:58.85) and finished second in the 200 breast (2:29.77), while Davis won the 1000 free (10:09.68) and the 500 free (4:55.20). He also finished second to Schulte in the 200 free.

Boris Paraliticci (Saunderstown, R.I.) earned the other individual first-place finish as he won the 100 free with a time of 49.04. He finished second in the 50 free with a time of 22.47.

Bryant also won the 200 medley relay. Curtin, Tavish Boyle (Springfield, N.J.), Paraliticci and George Sommerville (Pittsfield, Mass.) teamed up to win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:35.99.

The Bulldogs return to the pool next Saturday (Oct. 29) when they travel to Iona for a 2:00 p.m. meet.
