Swimming and Diving Faces Brown in Exhibition

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant swimming and diving teams competed against Brown this weekend. The swim team hosted the Bears on Saturday at home, while diving took place Friday night in Providence. FuKang Wong picked up two wins in the event, hitting the wall first in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. The meet was not scored.

Notes and Notables

  • Wong was also part of two second place finishes in the two relay events. The 200 medley relay team of Matthew Mays, Wong, Dom Scifo, and Conner Lofstrom clocked in at 1:33.39, while the 400 free relay team of Wong, Mays, Lofstrom, and Alex Rowson finished at 3:09.57.

  • Leo Luna had another strong performance in the 1000 free, coming home second with a time of 9:47.30.

  • Matthew Mays had a pair of second place finishes. He hit the wall at 50.99 in the 100 back, just 0.03 seconds off the winning time. In the 200 back, he came in at 1:51.51.

  • Erin Doruska finished third in both freestyle events. She had a 1:57.96 in the 200 and a 54.38 in the 100.

  • Julia Stenhard and Sara Gendron had runner up finishes in the 100 back and 100 fly, respectively. Stenhard finished the back in 59.68, while Gendron did the fly at 58.83.
