Bryant University Bulldogs Men's Tennis Comes Through With 6-3 Win Over Stonehill College Saturday

BRYANT UNIVERSITY MEN'S TENNIS PICKS UP BIG 6-3 WIN AT STONEHILL COLLEGE

Jose Rodriguez earned a win over Tim Fayed at No. 2 singles in Bryant's 6-3 win over Stonehill Saturday afternoon.

EASTON, MA - The Bryant University men's tennis team, ranked 45^th nationally and third in the East Region, earned a solid 6-3 win over Stonehill College Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action. The Bulldogs got off to a strong start, winning two of three doubles matches and picked up four wins - all coming at No. 1 through No. 4 - in singles action to improve to 15-3 overall and 9-0.

Freshman standout Cristian Belestrieri fought hard for a straight-set win at No. 1 singles, defeating Stonehill College's Michael Mashkevich 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 while teammate Jose Rodriguez pulled out a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win over Tim Fayed at No. 2 singles.

Thomas Nowak and Dylan Whiting preserved the win with two three-set wins. Nowak pulled out thrilling 7-6 win in the third (7-4 in the tiebreaker) over Jason Allegretti after losing the second set 6-0. Whiting came through with a 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 7-5 win over William Herschel at No. 4.
