MEN'S TENNIS EARNS PAIR OF 9-0 WEEKEND WINS

EAST HARTFORD, CONN. - The Bryant men's tennis team took back-to-back 9-0 wins this weekend over a pair of Northeast-10 Conference rivals, first topping Le Moyne College in East Hartford, Conn. Saturday and then taking down Saint Michael's College Sunday in Colchester, Vt.

The victories moved the Bulldogs to 11-3 on the year while keeping them an undefeated 6-0 in conference play.

Jose Rodriguez led the Bulldogs, turning in a pair of wins at No. 2 singles and pairing up with Thomas Novak for two more doubles victories in the weekend set. Rodriguez first topped Le Moyne's Kodi Kosmoski, 6-3, 6-0, Saturday in singles play before defeating Saint Michael's Andy Samara in a hard-fought match, 7-5, 7-6 (7-2).

The pair of Rodriguez and Novak won the No. 1 doubles matchup against Le Moyne, 8-3, following it up with a Sunday victory at No. 2 doubles, 8-5. Novak earned a pair of singles wins himself from the No. 3 slot, 6-2, 6-1 Saturday and 6-3, 6-1 Sunday.

Freshman Cristian Balestrieri also helped lead the Bulldogs to a perfect weekend with a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles, topping Le Moyne's Ryan Davidson, 6-3, 6-1, before beating Saint Michael's John Lescure in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
