SMITHFIELD, R.I. – In what is a fitting end to one of the best academic years for Bryant University at the Division I level, a record 136 student-athletes were named to the Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll that was announced on Thursday.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Northeast Conference Player of the Year Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) and sophomore classmate Michael Plutt (Weston, Fla.) highlighted a strong showing by the Bryant University men’s tennis team in the NCAA First Round, taking sets at No. 1 and No. 5 singles despite a 4-0 loss to No. 14 Oklahoma Friday afternoon in Norman, Okla.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Reflecting the success of the season, the Bryant University men’s tennis team claimed five First Team All-NEC recognitions and four Second Team All-NEC nods, while taking home two major awards, as redshirt sophomore Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) earned the program’s first-ever NEC Player of the Year award, while head coach Ron Gendron took home his fifth-straight NEC Coach of the Year honor.
