SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's tennis team closed its weekend with a 5-2 victory over Chattanooga on Sunday morning at the Battle of the Beach hosted by UNC Wilmington.

How it Happened (Doubles)

  • Senior Luke Lorenz (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and freshman Grant Pertile (Edgartown, Mass.) won at No. 3 doubles, 6-2, while redshirt junior Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) and junior Artur Jakubowski (Dallas, Texas) clinched the point with a 6-4 win at No. 1.

How it Happened (Singles)

  • Chattanooga won two of the first three singles points, tying things up at 2-2. Kuhar and freshman Wilson Dong (Bradenton, Fla.) then won at No. 1 and No. 5 to clinch the match. Kuhar won, 6-1, 7-5, while Dong clinched with a 6-3, 6-4 win.
  • Brothers Jorge Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) and Jorge Isaias Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) picked up the other victories, winning at No. 4 and No. 6.
