Men's tennis defeats FDU, 6-1, Sunday
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's tennis team won all six singles matches to earn a 6-1 victory over Northeast Conference rival Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday afternoon at Fore Court.
The Bulldogs used a pair of three-set victories to earn their eight-straight win over the Knights.

"Today was a quality team win. FDU showed up to play. I think we played a little tougher down the stretch and that equaled a win. A little disappointed with our energy in doubles, but pleased with the business-like attitude we maintained against a very talented FDU team in singles."
How it Happened (Doubles)
- Redshirt junior Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) and junior Artur Jakubowski (Dallas, Texas) won at No. 1 doubles, 6-3. The Knights won the final two doubles matches, 6-4 and 7-6 (5).
How it Happened (Singles)
- Bryant clinched the match with victories at 4, 3, 2 and 1. Senior Jorge Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Calif.) won at No. 4, 7-5, 6-1, while junior Michael Plutt (Weston, Fla.) won at No. 3, 7-5, 6-3.
- Jakubowski won 6-1, 7-6 (4) to make it 3-1 and Kuhar clinched the match with a three-set victory at No. 1. He lost the first set, 6-4, before winning 6-1, 7-5.
- Freshman Wilson Dong (Bradenton, Fla.) and sophomore Jorge Isaias Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) won the other two matches.
