Men's tennis downs Army, 4-1

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Bryant University men's tennis team picked up a 4-1 victory over Army on Saturday afternoon.   

Bryant is now 5-2 in its last seven matches.

Coach Gendron's Comments

"Today was a fell-fought win. Army, as one would expect, fought hard. But to our credit, we took what they had to offer and came away with a quality win."

How it Happened

  • Bryant grabbed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Junior Guido Argentini (Boca Raton, Fla.) and sophomore Trent Massam (Wellington, New Zealand) won their third-straight match, while sophomore Grant Pertile (Edgartown, Mass.) and junior Jorge Isaias Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) won for the fourth-straight time.
  • In singles, senior Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) won his 14th match, while classmate Mike Plutt (Weston, Fla.) clinched the match at No. 5.
