Kuhar, Dong become first ranked doubles team in NEC history

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's tennis doubles team of Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) and Wilson Dong (Bradenton, Fla.) became the first nationally-ranked doubles team in program and Northeast Conference history on Tuesday.

Kuhar and Dong were ranked No. 38 in the most recent ITA national poll released on Tuesday. The duo, which had been unranked, is a perfect 6-0 on the year.

Bryant's top doubles team did not play together until a January 20 match at Dartmouth and it was a sign of good things to come. Kuhar and Dong beat David Horneffer and Charlie Broom, ranked 16th nationally, 6-4. They've since gone on to earn wins over Brown, BU, Merrimack, NJIT and Binghamton. They'll likely face another nationally-ranked doubles team this weekend when the Bulldogs take on Princeton.
