Kuhar named NEC Player of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University men's tennis senior Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) has been named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week.

Kuhar added a NEC Player of the Week honor to his two NEC Player of the Month accolades following a 2-1 week in #1 singles play for the Bulldogs. He opened with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Sacred Heart's Seiji Hosokowa in Bryant's 6-1 NEC victory last Thursday. The following afternoon he knocked off Buffalo's Ethan Nittolo - an All-MAC player - in straight sets (7-6, 6-2). In his third match in three days, Kuhar fell to Princeton's Karl Poling. The #38-ranked doubles tandem of Kuhar and Wilson Dong (Bradenton, Fla.) posted a 6-3 win against SHU and dropped a tightly contested 7-6 (3) decision to #23 Damian Rodriguez and Ryan Seggerman of Princeton. Kuhar is now 19-7 in singles play this year.
