Men's tennis falls to St. John's, 4-0

BROOKLYN, N.Y.  – The Bryant University men's tennis team fell to St. John's, 4-0, Saturday night at the USTA National Tennis Center.  

Coach Gendron's Comments

"It was a hard-fought weekend ending with a very tough battle against a strong St. John's team. The ending wasn't ideal but it is very clear we have what it takes to compete with anyone in the country. We still have work to do. Vamos Perros."

How it Happened

  • Seniors Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) and Artur Jakubowski (Dallas, Texas) grabbed a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles but the Red Storm rebounded to win at 2 and 3.
  • In singles, St. John's clinched the match with victories at 2, 5 and 6.
  • Kuhar split sets at 1 before going unfinished, while Jakubowski was up a set at 3.
