Bulldogs down Wagner, 6-1, Saturday

TEANECK, N.J.  – The Bryant University men's tennis team defeated Wagner College, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon in New Jersey.

Saturday's match was played at Fairleigh Dickinson. The Bulldogs have now won 15-straight regular-season matches against Northeast Conference opponents and are 36-2 all-time in NEC play.

Coach Gendron's Comments

"Solid win today. Wagner brought great energy and put up a fight. Happy to keep our NEC winning streak alive. Looking forward to FDU tomorrow, it's always a good match."

How it Happened

  • Bryant cruised to the doubles point, dropping just one point against the Seahawks.
  • In singles, Bryant won at 3, 1 and 5 to quickly clinch the match.
  • Sophomore Wilson Dong (Bradenton, Fla.) won 6-3, 6-3 at 1, junior Guido Argentini (Boca Raton, Fla.) won 6-0, 6-1 at 3 and senior Mike Plutt (Weston, Fla.) won 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 at 5.
  • Jorge Isaias Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) and Andrew Pregel (Cincinnati, Ohio) also picked up wins.
