Kuhar named NEC Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University men's tennis graduate student Matt Kuhar (Smithfield, R.I.) has been named the Northeast Conference Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the third-straight season.

Kuhar wraps up his career by winning three-straight NEC Player of the Year and NEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors. He is only the second player in league history to win as many as three-straight player of the year honors.

One of the greatest athletes to play at Bryant, Kuhar finished a stellar career this spring. He became the first player in NEC history to be ranked in singles and doubles in the same season and finished his Bryant career with an 87-31 singles record. Kuhar and teammate Wilson Dong (Bradenton, Fla.) became the first-ever doubles team in program and NEC history to compete in the NCAA Doubles Championships this spring, as well.

In the classroom, Kuhar earned a degree in Finance in 2018 and is currently pursuing his MBA at Bryant. He graduate with a 3.70 GPA and currently holds a 3.66 GPA in grad school.
